Religion and Society Meeting Place

Projects on the Tempelhofer Feld

The installation "Coming together, confronting, moving on together" in the area of the old airport was erected by "Treffpunkt Religion und Gesellschaft e. V.".

It consists of 7 by 7 bright blue seats in two concentric circles and offers the opportunity for a circular conversation according to the ball bearing method. Two participants always sit opposite each other and discuss an agreed topic. Each person has the opportunity to formulate their own thoughts and listen to what the others have to say. By turning the circles against each other, one gets to know different people and their positions in a short time.

Polarization, prejudice and lack of understanding continue to play a major role when it comes to the topic of religion. The Treffpunkt Religion und Gesellschaft e.V. (TRG) wants to make a contribution so that people of different religions and world views can talk to each other. It wants to inform about religion, give impulses for the debate about topics at the interface of religion and society and offer space for religious experience.
