Transformation of Tempelhofer Feld - from airport to Berlin's largest open space

On a tour of the field, we explore historical features, habitats and current developments on Berlin's largest open space.

Join us on an exciting guided tour of the diverse and colourful Tempelhofer Feld. Learn more about the eventful past of this former airport site, which has now developed into an open space and green oasis in the centre of the city.

Find out first-hand how such a large park is managed and what professional and sensitive maintenance of this large open landscape and biotope looks like. We will also introduce you to current maintenance work and cover the broad spectrum of the urban ecological significance of large open spaces.

Depending on the time of year, we will explore specific areas to find out more about Grün Berlin GmbH's diverse development measures. Learn more about the currently planned remodelling of the entrances, utilities and tree planting.

We will also shed light on the importance of participatory processes and civic engagement for the design, utilisation and preservation of Tempelhofer Feld.

For young people aged 16 and over and adults.
